“I do not merely put paint to canvas.
I invent ART.”
– Danielle DuBois

Here’s a peek into how I ended up here…

I fell into this painting gig during 2007.  I wanted something big and colourful for my child’s playroom, but wasn’t finding it in the stores.  I figured, “I’ll pick up a canvas and some paints – how hard could it be?”

As it turns out, this is incredibly fun, and I fancy myself to be quite good at it!

Large canvases, acrylics, and mixed media are what I work with, and Abstract is the wonderfully vague and infinite field I create within.  This particular combination is exhilarating because there is tremendous freedom in it: expansive, expressive, fun – nothing detailed or tiny.  I’m more of the “big picture” variety.

With all my pieces, I tend to work with a particular colour and globs of texture here and there.  As many artists have also experienced, at some point during the process the art tends to take on a life of its own, and these incredible pieces of acrylic and mixed-media evolve, morph, and emerge into a rich world of depth, beauty, movement, and light.

If one feels joy after viewing my art, then my purest desire for creating the piece has been met.  Of course, actually selling the work is a bit of a giggle, too.

Aside from Tochilkin, Gerstein, and my posse of gorgeous girlfriends, inspiration comes from Within, Higher Intelligence, The Universe, Soul (you get the picture).

Writing is another passion of mine, and within this website you will find some of my musings, poetry, and letters from the heart.  I hope you enjoy them.

Please stay tuned for information on my upcoming show.

Thank you for taking the time to read a bit about me; I appreciate you doing so.
