Muskoka The Rosseau

After hearing friends rave about this area for years, I finally made the 2.5-3hr drive north of Toronto this summer (2011).  Needless to say, I was not disappointed.  I now clearly understand why people make this long drive every weekend – it is an incredibly special area of Ontario. My one and only hotel stay thus far was at The Rosseau, a J.W. Blue Mountain Fun

Each time I’ve stayed at the Village, I stay at the Westin (www.westinbluemountain.com/), and have enjoyed it thoroughly.  I prefer a mountain view over the pool view, as the rooms are simply quieter (please note: I have only stayed during the summer; the pool view rooms during the winter may be quiet also).  Do try to book a room closer to the elevator than not, as it can be a very long walk, otherwise. Chicago, My Kind of Town

If the opportunity arises, please stay at the Elysian (elysianhotels.com).  This is an utterly exquisite boutique hotel, with superb staff to fulfill your every desire.  Each time I stay there, I understand the meaning of “a little slice of Heaven” that much better.
